Virgin Gives Frequent Flier Miles for Fido

Attention all pet lovers. Cancel that kennel booking. Because if you're flying on Virgin Australia, you can score up to 300 frequent flier points for traveling with your furry friend, the Huffington Post reports. The airline flies nearly 30,000 pets around Oz each year. To celebrate the launch of the program, the airline launched a Pet Ambassador search, encouraging fliers to submit photos of their pets on Facebook. The winning dog or cat will score a prize pack and be featured in airline advertising. Not heading down under anytime soon? You can earn similar pet points on both JetBlue's JetPaws program and on Virgin Atlantic in the US. Do you often travel with your dog or cat? Do you think airlines should be more pet-friendly? Weigh in below.
