Trucks and Trikes Take Over The Plant

Chicago’s first vertical farm and hydroponic gardening mecca is throwing a fundraiser to supports the developing green community. The Plant has come a long way in the past year, selling its first greens at local markets. They also have welcomed fish into the indoor ecosystem and a fresh batch of artisan producers to transform the grown goods into baked ones. Check out The Plant in action on Saturday during its Second Annual Food Truck Rally.

Taste why you are supporting this cause by dining on fresh fruits and vegetables grown at The Plant. The produce has also been utilized by The Plant’s tenants Pleasant House Bakery, Peerless Bread & Jam and Arize Kombucha. Participating food trucks include The Fat Shallot, Bridgeport Pasty, Beavers Donuts, Bombay Wraps, Curried, Dalia's Cocina, Porkchop and SweetRide. New this year is the bicycle component, with coffee from the people-powered cafe on wheels.

Tickets to the party cost $5 in advance or $7 on the day of. The South Side shindig kicks off at 11 AM and continues until 5 PM.
