brought New York's Papaya King to front The Sayers Club in Hollywood, but then closed it earlier this year? Well they and Jason Scoppa have done what they probably should've done to begin with - opened even more Sayers Club. The home of the former hot dog stand is now more of a "neighborhood bar" counterpoint to the uber-exclusive nightclub, one where you can actually get a table and nosh on merguez-stuffed dates, Green Goddess pesto pizzas and sip on Old Fashioneds.
There's reclaimed wood, hanging guitars, and a Rumer Willis residency on Tuesday nights and jazz on Sundays. And, sure, we imagine there will be lines, but the idea is that the Sayers Front Bar is more everyday and easier to get into than the original. The bar opens Tuesday through Sunday nights beginning at 6 PM with music around 8:30 PM and food served until 2 AM (1645 Wilcox Ave.).
