Kermit’s Bake Shoppe is set for launch on July 22, and next week we’ll have a full photo preview of everything you can look forward to at the Washington Avenue pizzeria-bakery. First, though, a moment to spotlight one of pastry chef Chad Durkin’s signature candy bars, because: It. Is. Amazing.
For the Ballpark Classic bar, Durkin starts with a base of ganache, tops it with nougat studed with pretzels, peanuts and cranberries, and enrobes the whole thing in milk chocolate. A few peanuts and pretzels on top finish the look, which doesn’t matter at all once you put your mouth on the thing, because you’ll close your eyes in sugary euphoria.
At $5 each, the bars are not cheap, but they aren’t small either (around five inches long and an inch thick), and they will hit the spot. Crunchy, salty, creamy, chewy, sweet - it’s all in there. Everything Snickers promises about satisfaction? This is where you’ll actually find it. Get psyched for Monday’s launch.
