Southwark Returns From Summer Break With New Menu

Like many of us, Southwark took a brief break over the week surrounding Independence Day. Now the Queen Village restaurant is back with a whole new menu for summer. Chef Nick Macri added several new starters: you can now get his famous ‘nduja (spreadable sausage) in deviled eggs alongside smoked mackerel, and there’s a new topping for the oysters - cucumber-shallot mignonette.

All of the entrees are revamped, including seared ivory salmon with green gazpacho and blueberry salsa - a dish we’re betting tastes as good as its color-filled description makes it seem. Then there’s grilled pork belly with sweet corn, and a crispy polenta with those sour cherries we were raving about a couple weeks ago. View the full menu below.

Southwark serves dinner nightly (closed Sunday-Monday), but if you want a special meal, reserve a seat for the Wednesday, July 17, prix-fixe dinner with guest chef Brian Ricci of Kennett. Four courses featuring Ricci’s new line of preserved goods, Nifty, runs $45 per person, or just $55 with wine or beer pairings. Dinner begins at 7 PM; call for reservations (215-238-1888).
