The Bentley Tavern, a new restaurant from chef Ian Flowers (LoKal) and owner Brian Dohmen, is set to open in the first week of August with a menu of American bistro fare. Early word on food is that it will include housemade charcuterie, Peekytoe crab cakes with red pepper-caper remoulade and a Bentley burger with pork belly, egg, mushrooms, pickles and ham. The restaurant and the burger are named after Dohmen's dog, a shepherd/boxer mix adopted from PAWS. The restaurant will be located at 2834 North Southport Avenue in a 1,000-sq.-ft. building that housed an Italian restaurant for the past 30 years. Hopefully, The Bentley will have an equally successful run.
