Pay It Forward Benefit Brings Together Best Chefs in Town

The Carillon team at CultureMap's TasteMaker Awards
On August 8 the AT&T Education and Conference Center, the home of The Carillon, will host the Pay It Forward benefit with Lone Star Paralysis Foundation in support of Daniel Curtis. In 2011 Curtis was injured in a diving accident, severely injuring his spinal cord. That year, the benefit helped Curtis with medical expenses, and now he wants to pay it forward to help others who need help with medical bills.

Twenty of Austin’s best chefs will be offering treats. Josh Watkins of The Carillon will be there, of course, as will Tatsu Aikawa of Ramen Tatsu-Ya, David Bull of Congress, Ned Elliott of Foreign & Domestic, Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, Rene Ortiz of Sway and La Condesa, and many more. Plus, try cocktails from the Tipsy Texan and enjoy a silent auction.

Tickets are $75, and VIP tickets (which get you early entry to the benefit, a happy hour and more) run $125. Visit www.payitforwardwithdaniel.org to make reservations or donate.
