Old-Schooler Ponte's Closes in TriBeCa, Will Possibly Move

Ponte's has been dishing out old-world Italian in TriBeCa since 1967, but it looks like this family-run restaurant has given up the ghost. A savvy tipster noticed it was closed, and a message on the resto's website says that it's shuttered "for an indefinite period of time" for "extensive renovation and remodeling plans." The message hints that a relocation ins in the cards, and a call to the restaurant finds that the team is pondering next steps - they own buildings nearby so may end up packing up, but could reopen at the current location after a renovation. For now at least, you'll have to go watch the sunset on the Hudson elsewhere.
