Now Open: EMC Seafood Brings $1 Oysters, More to Koreatown

As if we didn't have enough new seafood spots for fish and chips, lobster rolls and fresh, briny oysters (read: Connie and Ted's, Fishing With Dynamite, Santa Monica's new Water Grill, etc.), here comes EMC Seafood & Raw Bar, which recently opened in the City Center on 6th complex in Koreatown. The space is fairly compact, with nice big windows out front, lots of blonde wood within, a few communal tables, and a bar - a full one, to be exact, with full-strength cocktails, beer and more.

The menu reads the same as others, with an Asian twist here and there: soft-shell crab sliders with soy glaze and spicy mayo; fried catfish with Asian dipping sauce; crispy garlic chicken wings; crabs, lobsters and other seafood steamed, crispy or charbroiled with various spices and sauces; and even some meat. The raw bar has everything from oyster shooters to seared albacore sashimi, plus an array of oysters (Crystal Point, Blue Point, Fanny Bay, Malpeque) for around $15 per half dozen. Those oysters are only a buck during the daily happy hour (5-7 PM). EMC opens 4 PM-2 AM daily. [Urbandaddy]
