Meat Fests: Lucques Ribfest Heads to Tavern, Dominick's Swine & Wine

Stack o' ribs at Lucques
'Tis the season to eat a lot of meat. The annual Lucques Ribfest is so popular and so often sells out, Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne have decided to add an additional night at Tavern in Brentwood. Not only is it the first time the Ribfest gets two nights, but because it takes place on August 4, it happens a full two weeks before the one at Lucques (August 18). The menu is the same - St. Louis-style ribs, braised beef back ribs, spiced lamb ribs, chicken wings, all the sides and warm peach cobbler for dessert. The staff will be in their best hoe-down gear, too. $55 per person; you'll need a reservation (310-806-6464).

On August 1, Warner Ebbink and Brandon Boudet are gearing up for their annual pig roast on the Dominick's patio, this time with wine pairings from Palmina Winery. The six-course menu includes jambalaya arancini; summer lettuces with roasted apricot and almond-milk ricotta; Japanese yellowtail with summer melon; cavatelli with wood-roasted mushrooms; roasted pig with summer corn polenta; and rustic plum tart with mascarpone gelato. Starts at 7 PM. Tickets are $72 in advance or $85 at the door (310-652-2335).
