Luckyrice, the high-end take on an Asian Night Market: 1) It's coming back to LA after an inaugural run last year, and 2) it's moving to a larger venue. While snaking through the furniture wonderland H.D. Buttercup for last year's event had its charm, the back area where the party took place was a bit cramped for a lot of people. So having it at the more spacious Bookbindery building in Culver City sounds like a winning situation. The chef line-up is even better, too.
The food was never an issue, and this year is poised to be excellent with chefs like Sang Yoon, Jet Tila, Bryant Ng and Kris Yenbamroong on tap to serve, plus restaurants like Jitlada, Parks BBQ, BEP Vietnamese Kitchen, Hamasaku and Starry Kitchen. Top cocktailers will be there too, mixing up swishy Asian-inspired gin drinks. Luckyrice happens on Saturday, July 27, 7-10 PM. VIP is already sold out, but you can still get general admission tickets ($88) here.
