The menus change daily, and reservations are important since this books up fast (5955 Melrose Ave.; 323-460-4170).

Saturday, July 13
The 39th Annual Concern Foundation Block Party once again takes place at Paramount Studios today. The theme is A Salute to Television, which is apropos since the whole thing is backdropped by sets from TV and movie shoots. Dine on dishes from more than 60 restaurants and caterers, sip wine and cocktails, vy for goods at the silent auction, play casino games and listen to live entertainment on four different stages, all to support cancer research (the foundation has raised over $500 million so far to date). Tickets are $350 per person, and must be purchased in advance here.

Sunday, July 14
It's Bastille Day, which gives you good reason to visit one of our Frenchy French restaurants, even if you don't know why today is a holiday (it's to celebrate the storming of the Bastille in 1789). Be like our European brethren and nosh on charcuterie, cheese, escargot and more at Church & State, Cafe Pierre, Bouchon, Cafe Stella, Monsieur Marcel and more.
