Joanne Chang Prepares Special Brunch at Straight Wharf on Nantucket This Saturday

Heads up for this weekend, people. If you’re heading to Nantucket or want a special reason to go, here it is: Joanne Chang, award-winning cookbook author and chef/owner of Flour Bakery + Café, will be presenting a four-course brunch and cookbook signing at Straight Wharf Restaurant on Nantucket Saturday, July 27.

Chang and Gabriel Frasca, friend and chef/owner of Straight Wharf, will present recipes from flour and flour, too cookbooks as part of the special brunch menu. The event will begin around 11 AM with raspberry Champagne cocktails, cantaloupe-mint mojitos and warm oversized gougères - savory choux pastry. The sit-down portion of the brunch is slated to start around noon, when you'll be presented with a chilled Spanish gazpacho, followed by a Farmer’s Market Salad with chive buttermilk dressing, buttermilk fried chicken with summer three-bean salad and potato salad; and for dessert, of course, Chang will whip up a pavlova with stone fruit.
