Hop Over to Drink Craft Beer's Summerfest

Certain things are a hallmark of summer. Beer fests are one of them, and this one, which will take over Revere Hotel’s Space 57 event space on July 12 and 13, fits the bill especially well. Maybe because it bills itself as a “Celebration of Farmhouse Ale,” and farmhouse ales (or saisons) were originally developed by Belgian farm owners to be light, refreshing beers they could dole out to farmhands during hot summers. (If only every boss could be so generous.) The Drink Craft Beer event will bring together 25 New England brewers representing over 80 craft beers: Massachusetts’ Night Shift Brewing and Backlash Beer to Maine’s Urban Farm Fermentory and Connecticut’s Two Roads Brewing. The $50 tickets (scoop them up ASAP here) earn entry to one of three sessions (Friday 6-9:30 PM, Saturday 1-4:30 PM or 6-9:30 PM) and access to unlimited two-ounce samples from the dozens of varieties. Plus there will be food to buy from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Grillo’s Pickles, Union Square Donuts and more. Drink up, chow down. ‘Tis the season.
