Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat Coming to Old City

Six months ago, Jeb Woody and Ellen Mogell launched a second outpost of longtime Northern Liberties brunch favorite Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat, and the South Street West location has been doing well: Craig LaBan gave the new Southern-Jewish comfort food bruncherie two bells, and lines regularly form on weekend mornings. It’s enough success that more expansion is in the cards.

The Insider reports the pair has just signed a lease for a third Honey’s location, this one at 228 Vine Street in Old City. Woody, who is also a partner at soon-to-launch Shifty’s Taco, says the new spot could be ready as soon as early 2014. The big difference for number three: this one will have a liquor license. Bottomless mimosas and chicken ‘n’ waffles? Possibly even worth a wait in line.
