First Look: Elizabeth Falkner's Corvo Bianco, Opening Monday on the UWS

Pizza hungry New Yorkers who were disappointed by chef Elizabeth Falkner's short stint at Brooklyn's Krescendo should take heart: grilled pizza will be available at her new joint Corvo Bianco, which is opening on Monday in the UWS space that used to house Calle Ocho. The stylish venue will play host to a lot more than rectangular pies - the menu is inspired by the coasts of Italy and showcases pastas and meaty dishes like beef tagliata with roasted garlic salmoriglio. Natural light streams through a skylight, and you can sip vino from a list of over 100 bottles, 30 of which are priced at the affordable $30 mark (score!).

The name means "white crow" in Italian, and the room has a single bird who fits the description worked into the decor. See if you can spot it when you stop by 446 Columbus Avenue starting on Monday, and check out more food and decor shots in the slide show below the jump.
