10-day food tour through Israel, but if you want to explore cuisine closer to home with a much lower time and dollar commitment, check out Chew Philly Food Tours. Held each Thursday-Saturday (with breaks for holidays), these two-and-a-half-hour walking tours take a group of 16 culinarily curious folks through the hills of Manayunk for a day of bites and fun.
Tickets are $60 per adult or $35 per child, and including tastings of everything you run into during the trip. Expect all kinds of food, from the newly famous - Burger Brawl people’s choice winner peanut-butter-bacon burger from Lucky’s Last Chance is a new addition - to the ultra-classic, like cannoli from Italian deli Angelo & Josephine’s. We also hear a water ice shop is new on the list of stops.
Advance reservations are required (here), since space is limited, and tours do sell out. As of this writing, there’s still some space this weekend, including the 11 AM tour on Saturday, July 13, and the 11:30 AM Sunday session.
