Don Bugito's Insect Snacks Now Available at Ferry Building

Don Bugito Prehispanic Snackeria, the catering company that sold toffee worm ice cream cones and wax moth larvae tacos at Off The Grid's weekly Fort Mason event last year, now offers to-go bites at the La Cocina kiosk in the Ferry Building Marketplace. Choose between packets of chocolate covered salted crickets or chile-lime spiked spicy superworms (mealworms); ask for a sample if you're not sure whether to swing sweet or savory with your insect consumption. And if you take proprietor Monica Martinez's Buggin' Out class at La Cocina on October 30, you can learn how to make these snacks just in time for trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
