Dinner Might Hurt: Get Ink'd at Atwood Cafe

One of our very own 30 Under 30 is celebrating no longer being under 30 with one of the most extreme pairings we’ve ever seen. No, there will not be bugs or odd organs on the menu at Atwood CafĂ© for chef Derek Simcik’s 30th. Instead, the heavily inked chef welcomes his favorite tattoo shop, Code of Conduct, for a five-course dinner with cocktail and tattoo pairings.

Here is how it is going to go down on Monday. The party starts at the South Loop tattoo parlor at 3:30 PM. Take some inspiration the fork, knife and spoon on Simcik’s fingers or the eggs and bacon on his feet and get your own culinary-inspired ink. Real tattoos, the one with needles that hurt and don’t go away, will be done for a discounted rate of $65. Or opt for something less permanent for $15.

After getting tatted up, diners will be transported via a complimentary limo to the restaurant. Dinner starts at 5 PM with a cocktail reception followed by the seated meal at 6:30 PM. The menu is inspired by the vibrant color and bold designs associated with the art of tattooing. Tickets to the dinner cost $85 with proceeds benefiting the Chicago Food Depository.

Reserve your future tat and seat at the table by calling 312-368-1900.
