Monday
Celebrate the “Dog Days of Summer” at Bull & Bear with a weeklong tribute to the hot dog. The restaurant will offer different takes on the classic dog inspired by Chicago’s neighborhood. Specials include The Pilsen Dog with al pastor sausage, grilled pineapple, cactus relish, cilantro crème, fresh jalapeño and salsa habanero on a bolillo roll for $8 (312-527-5973).

Tuesday
Vie welcomes 5 Rabbit Cervecería for a five-course with brewmaster John Hall. Pairings include roasted Gunthorp Farms half duck for two with 5 Grass. Seats cost $90 per person (708-246-2082).

Wednesday
Chicago Firehouse kicks off a new weekly movie night with Singin’ in the Rain. Each film is paired with dinner specials and specialty themed cocktails in addition to the regular menu. Upcoming movies include The Blind Side, Julie & Julia and Mama Mia shows on the patio (312-786-1401).

Thursday
Nacional 27 is throwing a fiesta for Tequila Day that starts on Monday and continues through Thursday with $15 tequila flights paired with half-priced tapas and ceviche from 5-7 p.m. in the bar, lounge or patio (312-664-2727).

Friday
Standard Market in Westmont recently collaborated with Barra family winery to create a custom Cabernet Sauvignon called Pioneer. The wine will only be sold at Standard Market, Standard Market Grill and Bakersfield restaurant, and the first batch will be poured Bakersfield from 6:30 to 10 PM at a wine tasting party with live music (630) 568-3615.

Saturday
Spiaggia invites guests to learn the secrets of the Sardinians, who are said to know the secret to longevity, at the Islands of Italy Cooking Class. Lear how to cook the specialties of Sardegna and Sicilia such as capers, Noto almonds, Sicilian sea salt and Castelvetrano olives. Tickets to the class cost $125 online.

Sunday 
Chefs in the City Summer Tasting and Croquet Garden Party takes over the Galleria Marchetti with cocktails and bites from 15 acclaimed chefs including Brian Huston (The Publican), Bill Kim (BellyQ) and Ryan Poli (Little Market Brasserie). Tickets cost $150 online and proceeds benefit Vital Bridges Center on Chronic Care.
