Chefs Talk Reality TV for Fund-raiser

From Top Chef to Iron Chef, there’s no doubt that TV shows have nourished a new generation of foodies. But what’s it like to be on the other side of the screen? Once the cameras are off, how do chefs feel about their experiences on reality shows and TV cooking competitions?

Next Monday, July 22, Theater 1 (inside the Revere Hotel Boston Common) hosts “Stirring the Pot: An Inside Look at the World of Reality TV Chefs.” The event is a fund-raiser for the Greater Boston Food Bank, and will bring together five chefs: including Chopped alum Christopher Coombs of Boston Chops, Sweet Genius winner Alina Eisenhauer of Worcester’s Sweet Bakery and Wicked Good Cupcakes co-owner Tracey Noonan, who scored a $75,000 investment on the latest season of Shark Tank. Besides giving the dish on their experiences and fielding audience Q&A, the chefs will serve up free samples during a pre-event reception. (Cash bar.) For entry, make a donation and pre-register here.
