Chef's Promotion Brings Flair to Turner Fisheries

Jason Bautista
It’s always nice when cooks find their way to the front of the line. Jason Bautista, formerly the sous at Turner Fisheries, the seafooder in the Westin Copley Place hotel in the Back Bay, has just been promoted to chef de cuisine of the hotel’s restaurant.

Bautista grew up in California with a family steeped in the restaurant industry. The young chef plans to bring a his own flair to the menu, for example, adding Prince Edward Island mussels with roasted garlic, Spanish chorizo and chardonnay ($10); and grilled salmon filet with quinoa, English peas, and kaffir lime glaze ($20). Bautista is planning to do “Chef’s Whim Wednesday”, when Bautista will create a lobster-based special, from baked-stuffed lobster to lobster ravioli for $35 on the first Wednesday of every month indefinitely. Check him out, lunch or dinner (617-424-7425).
