Best Thing We Ate This Week: Avocado and Cilantro-Lime Sorbetto at Capogiro

The gelato at Capogiro is world-famous (really - National Geographic recently called it the No. 1 spot for ice cream on Earth), but the summer heat is best beaten into submission with sorbetto, gelato’s non-dairy counterpart. The least sweet flavors are the most refreshing, and we hit on a new killer combo this week: a scoop of cilantro-lime sorbetto next to a scoop of avocado.

Both varieties are sweetened, to be sure, but only lightly. Like all Capogiro creations, they’re both intensely flavorful. The cilantro-lime is bright and crisp, with none of that “soapy” scent that puts some people off of the herb, and the avocado is extremely creamy even without dairy, thanks to the natural fats in the vegetable. Together, they form an icy taco - a perfect meal replacement on a hot day. Look for these flavors at one of the four Capogiro locations around town.
