America is No Longer the Most Obese Country in the World

Here's some news that'll make Morgan Spurlock happy - America is no longer the most obese (populous) country in the world - the honor has gone to Mexico, with America falling just behind, according to a new UN study. Almost 1/3 of Mexico's population is obese with almost 70% overweight and 1/3 of the teenage population also obese. So it's not entirely clear if that means America is getting healthier or just that Mexico is getting less healthy (or both). What's even more unsettling is that obesity is rampant among malnourished communities, with many families having obese parents and underfed children. [FAO via Gawker]
