Adam Perry Lang's summer pop-up is well under way. The classically trained chef-turned-barbecue star - he went from Le Cirque and Guy Savoy to the "World Series of BBQ" - started serving lunch at the Back Lot BBQ yesterday, and will continue to do so today, and then every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from July 16 through September 5. On the menu: some serious pecan wood-smoked beef short ribs as Tweeted by Jimmy Kimmel himself, with pickles and onions. Cost is $20 a plate.
More items from his Serious Barbecue cookbook will be added throughout the summer, things like pork butt with green apple, hot pepper and avocado, beef brisket, and double-smoked bacon with waffles. Sit and eat lunch from 11 AM-3 PM, or grab take-out from 4-5 PM. The lot is at 6737 Hawthorne Avenue, with a parking lot on the corner of Hawthorne and Orange. Go hungry.
