10 Hot New Burgers in the Bay Area

Mason Pacific
As the temps heat up, so does the competition for the hottest new burgers in the Bay. Chefs this year are outdoing themselves to bring you the most decadent, luxurious and carnivorously delicious ideas that their wild imaginations can conjure up. Much of the time, this involves ingredients such as cheese, pork belly and even bone marrow. Take a look through the dozen new burgers that should be in your mouth as soon as possible. Have we overlooked your favorite new burger? Don't keep it to yourself, give us the beef in the comments.

  1. I was disappointed with the Tribune Tavern burger. Not near as good as the one produced by their sister restaurant, Chop Bar. The bun was far too bready - like a cheap grocery store bun. The burger was served with some pickled onions - a couple tomato slices would be nice. Fries were lackluster and undercooked. If you going to have a burger for over $14 it has to be superior to the ones over at takeout places like Trueburger.

  2. What a colossal oversight to not include Park Burger on this list. In my opinion, it's the best burger in the East Bay, and it rivals SF's best.

  3. It could be that this doesn't make the Top 10 (I've not tried all of these) but I doubt it. The "First Base Burger" at Hopscotch in Oakland is just awesome. The griddled beef tongue might be the magic, or maybe it's just really well balanced. Give it a try.

  4. Joshu-ya's Kobe beef burger is pretty impressive, without upstaging the rest of the menu, the most creative take on fusion we've found in Berkeley.
