Texas Changes Beer Laws; Austin Craft Breweries Rejoice
Jester King, for example, will begin offering its tours for free and selling beer in its tasting room on Saturday, June 29th, from 1-4 PM. The brewery will change its license to be a brewpub, which will allow them to sell beer to go. Meanwhile Uncle Billy’s Brew& Que plans to expand to sell 16-oz. cans of craft beer to specialty stores and kegs to other bars in Austin. We’re sure more other exciting news is in the works for small-batch breweries like Hops and Grain, Live Oak and more. Now that Governor Perry has signed the Texas Craft Beer Bills into law, all of our city’s wonderful microbreweries can sell beer on premises to consumers, as well as to wholesalers and beer distributors.
