Now Open: Cimarusti's Connie and Ted's in West Hollywood + The Menu

It's no secret that one of LA's top chefs was opening a new more casual, East Coast-inspired seafood restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood - especially since previews have been going on for the past week and bites and nibbles have hit the internets - but knowing that it's finally, finally, finally here is big news. So starting tonight, everyone and anyone can get a taste of Michael Cimarusti's (Providence) lobster rolls, chowdah, fried clam roll, linguica-stuffed clams and fried fish sandwiches at Connie and Ted's.

In addition to the open layout, which includes a fantastic patio and a fish-eye's view into the bustling kitchen, and food offerings (yes, steaks too!), there are a few other things to note. There's a large bar for cocktails, which, like at its Melrose sibling, feature fresh fruits, seasonal ingredients and artisanal spirits. Think Down East Punch, made with cognac, rum, Lamill coffee syrup and whole milk, or the Narragansett Cooler with bourbon, orange juice and ginger ale. And there's a really good craft beer list featuring 24 brews on tap - everything from Craftsman 1903 to Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout and a lot of IPAs in between - plus a large bottle selection. The restaurant opens at 6 PM tonight and will serve only dinner for the first few weeks; look for lunch around the third week of June. Check below to see what you'll be eating tonight (8171 Santa Monica Blvd.; 323-848-2722).
