Historic Yuengling Beer at Historic McGillin’s Olde Ale House

McGillin’s Olde Ale House is the oldest continuously operating bar in Philadelphia, and tonight it will host America’s oldest brewery, D.G. Yuengling & Son. The special 5-7 PM happy hour is  a brewers’ meet and greet that also features Round Guys and Susquehanna Brewing.

Jennifer Yuengling herself will be at the happy hour - she’s the daughter of fifth-generation company president Dick Yuengling. Earlier today, Jennifer ran into Jim Koch, president and founder of Boston Beer (maker of Samuel Adams), since both of them are in town for Philly Beer Week. The pair chatted about the rise of craft beer and exchanged compliments on the longevity and success of their respective breweries, which are currently tied as the two largest domestic-owned breweries in the US.
