Chipotle Opening Three ShopHouses in LA, Four More on the Way

Last fall we learned that Chipotle planned to launch its Southeast Asian concept, ShopHouse, in LA, and now we learn it's not just one location, but a gaggle of them. According to Nation's Restaurant News, two are already under construction in Hollywood and Santa Monica, and a third location is planned for Westwood. Eater pegs the locations: in the Sunset + Vine building in Hollywood, where there's already a busy Chipotle; on the Third Street Promenade in SaMo; and on Broxton in Westwood. The company plans to add another four more to the LA area.

The first ShopHouse opened in Washington DC in 2011, and it's basically just like Chipotle, only with rice and noodle bowls that you garnish with things like chicken satay, pork or chicken meatballs, tofu, veggies, sauces and other toppings. Currently LA and DC are the only cities with ShopHouses, but other cities are being eyed, including San Francisco, Chicago and Chipotle's home base, Denver.
