Sometimes the only way to sate a craving is to fully yield to it, which is what we did when we couldn't get Mariscos Jalisco's shrimp tacos out of our heads. We blame news of the Tacolandia event selling out, or that we're counting the days until the LA Street Food Fest; the taco stand will be at both. So we hopped over to the truck for a couple $1.75 shrimp tacos. The crunchy shell, the shrimp that gets brown and crisp on the edges, the salsa roja and fresh avocado on top - these are worth every penny and then some. We sat on the brick wall in the shade to eat, while a guy strummed his guitar and serenaded the crowd, with another unsuccessfully hawking long strands of blinged-out rosarios. What a delicious moment in time.
