Join confectionista Katherine Anne when she previews her new line of chilled drinking chocolates. The special summer concoction is made with chocolate ganache that is slowly whisked with cold milk and available in flavors such as salted caramel, blueberry lemon lavender and hazelnut coffee. The preview party takes place tonight at 5:30 PM with drinking chocolate as well as other treats. Tickets cost $25 (773-245-1630).
The annual street fest and sidewalk sale returns this weekend with boutiques, restaurants and bars setting up shop on Division Street between Damen and Leavitt. In addition to eats from local restaurants, Do Division features live music from Friday night through Sunday. A $5 donation is suggested at the gate.
For anyone who has not wandered to the sunny event space at the top of the Bridgeport Art Center, Friday night will be the perfect opportunity to rectify that sin. One Million Degrees is hosting its sixth annual Food & Wine Tasting Event with dishes from Ryan McCaskey (Acadia), Matthais Merges (Yusho), Thai Dang (Embeya) and more. Tickets start at $350 and will benefit One Million Degrees, which supports low-income community college students.
Soft-shell crab season will be in full swing at Mario’s Table starting Saturday. The Gold Coast restaurant serves its version sautéed to a crisp, drizzled with lemon-caper butter and served with sautéed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. The crabs are sold individually for $7.95, $15.95 for two and $22.95 for three (312-944-0199).
