Shake Shack Grand Central Finally Gets the Green Light

Almost two years ago, we told you Shake Shack was headed to Grand Central's lower-level dining concourse. We weren't fibbing, but former tenant Zocalo put up quite the fight to stay in the space. Now, a number of legal battles later, Danny Meyer's beloved burger chain is cleared to land in the historic building, in what will be the first location for midtown east. We're told Shake Shack Grand Central should open by the end of the year, and will have signature menu items that are still being developed. The only downside? That inevitable burger and fries smell on Metro-North. [Crain's]
