Roy Choi Opens Chego Chinatown This Weekend

Hope the Chego wall made it/Photo: L. Balla
Actually, Roy Choi, some of us may be more excited about this than others. The Chego Palms location was a hit with Westsiders, the little shop usually packed with people itching for loaded rice bowls and Ooey Gooey Fries. And we're sorry it closed for all of you. But we can say that having it relocating to Chinatown's Far East Plaza is a total boon for Metro Gold Line riders and anyone who has a personal conflict with calling their Eastish neighborhood "the Eastside" (i.e. everyone who lives in Highland Park, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Hollywood...).

The Roy Choi clan reopens Chego this Saturday per his Tweet, and there will be Chubby Pork Bellies, Ping-Pong and more. "Come by anytime between 11 AM and 11 PM," the flyer states. Done (727 N. Broadway). [via LAW]
