Photo of the Day: The Kaiseki Table at Kabocha

There is exclusive dining and then there is dining in a private booth hidden by Japanese silk screens with a one-way mirror that looks directly into the kitchen. It doesn't get more exclusive than that, but dining at this table comes at a price. It is reserved for the kaiseki dinner at Kabocha, the new West Loop restaurant by chef Shin Thompson. The meal, which is the traditional Japanese version of the chef’s table, includes signature dishes off the regular menu as well as specially selected courses. The table seats two and dinner costs $110 per person with optional beverage pairings for $75. Reservations for this one-of-a-kind experience are being accepted as of today.
