We don’t know how we feel about this one, but here it is anyway. The deep-dish pizza chain, Giordano’s, launched its 41st location and it is not another Chicago-area store. It is a truck. The company received a mobile food preparer license and will now serve personal pan pizzas from the 28-foot-long truck. Nothing against pizza, but the essence of a food truck is in its small size - in both the physical and business sense. Owners who cannot afford a restaurant, or who want a less concrete location to experiment with food, turn to trucks. As established empire cashing in on the food truck trend leaves a less-than-desirable taste in our mouths. However, if the pizza is good, then we suppose it does not matter. The truck can be found around Chicago, at festivals and parked throughout the Chicago Park District.
