Eat and drink for a good cause: The New York City Coalition Against Hunger is holding its annual benefit tonight. Tickets start at $175 and proceeds benefit the organization's anti-hunger efforts.
Wednesday, May 8
Scarpetta is turning five and offering a special anniversary prix fixe in lieu of its regular tasting, through tomorrow. Expect old favorites including spiced duck breast with fava beans and spaghetti with tomato and basil; each course is paired with 2-oz. wine tastings.
Thursday, May 9
There's more to life than food (we hear), so get cultural at the Brooklyn Museum, when Talde chef Dale Talde gives a talk about "connecting cultures ... the many ways that food, like art, creates connections between cultures." Okay, maybe this is about food too. Anyway, tickets here.

Our favorite NoLA pop-up, Tchoup Shop, is now feeding Brooklynites Wednesday through Sundays at Heavy Woods. Budgeteers will like the weekend biscuit brunch special, including options such as the Escobar's green chili and pork biscuit with fried eggs, pickles, onions, and jalapeños for $10.
