The Charleston in Santa Monica, he has gotten behind a new frozen dessert chain called Kuma Snow Cream, which will land in the Las Vegas Chinatown District (3735 Spring Mountain Rd.) on May 24. This isn't Tila's first foray into the Vegas scene - he was the executive chef at Wazuzu at the Encore at the Wynn until 2011 - but this is his first off-Strip project, and one he can franchise.
"Snow cream" is a cross between traditional Asian shaved ice and ice cream that looks like ribbons when served. It's supposedly creamy yet fluffy. Kuma's flavors include green tea, taro, black sesame and honeydew and can be topped with any number of fruits, candies, cookies, mochi and sauces. Tila says the goal is to open more Kumas across the country, including LA, of course.
