New York Chocolatier Jacques Torres has big expansion plans, including at 40,000-square-foot factory opening later this year in the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, which had its groundbreaking this week. When that's rolling, Mr. Chocolate plans to shift production from current DUMBO and Hudson Street outposts, consolidating his operation and allowing for expansion; the popular DUMBO shop will be remodeled and enlarged. Chocoholics take note: The upcoming factory will offer tours on Saturdays. Maybe artisan food really is the future of Brooklyn economy?
