When it reopens, Mathew Barros will be at the helm of the kitchen. Barros was most recently chef de cuisine at Market by Jean-Georges in the W Hotel. He attended the Culinary Institute of America and was the opening sous chef for Myers + Chang. His style of cooking melds modern American with French and Asian cuisine.
During the renovation, Barros will host test dinners at the former Noche space at 3 Appleton St. in the South End. The dinners will be part of a weekly event, “Forum for One,” in which proceeds will benefit One Fund Boston, the chartiable organization that supports victims of the bombings. The first dinner May 17 is sold out. The next two are scheduled for May 24 & 31 and feature a multicourse meal and cash bar (6:30 PM; $75 per person; 617-716-9086 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org).
