Don't Leave Home Without: The Thing Quarterly

When things get really bad, say eight-hours-at-the-airport-and-still-delayed bad, it helps to find a little levity. And that's exactly what you'll get with illustrator David Shrigley's quirky new passport-sized book. It's the latest installment of The Thing Quarterly, a periodical in the form of an object (past issues have included a shower curtain printed with a Dave Eggers monologue and a pair of glasses in a case with text by Jonathan Lethem). Shrigley created a series of humorous drawings about the travel experience in a leather travel wallet by Matt Singer. It also contains a series of funny cards to give away to fellow travelers with messages like "Please don't help me" and "It's wasn't my idea" printed on them. The book is available online for $95.
