Celebrate National Burger Day at LeaderBar with $1 burgers served smothered in Merkts cheddar and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickle and house sauce. Wednesday
Root’s turns two, and they have quite the party planned. It kicks off with $2 Roots House Brews, $3 select shots, $5 Grey Goose vodka cocktails and free birthday cake from West Town Bakery & Diner. After 10 PM, the restaurant debuts two new guest chef pizzas and serve free samples. The new pizzas include a chili cheese curd pizza from Antique Taco’s chef Rick Chili Cheese Curd Pizza and the Homestead lobster pizza from chef Chris Curren (773-645-4949).

Thursday
Cheers to the short workweek with a Lagunitas Brewing Company beer dinner at Cru Kitchen & Bar. Dine on courses such as beer braised short ribs with Yukon gold potatoes and rhubarb chutney paired with Lagunitas Maximus. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM and tickets cost $45 (312-337-4001).

Friday
Join NBC 5’s meteorologist Cheryl Scott at American Junkie for a benefit supporting the victims of the Oklahoma tornado. At “Pour for Moore,” Chicago Cubs players will be guest bartendering at the new River North restaurant and bar. Complimentary Bacardi cocktails and passed appetizers will be served from 6 to 8 PM. Saturday
March with the vegetarians at the second annual Veggie Pride Parade. Raise awareness about living a plant-based lifestyle, because not everyone is dependent on a steak and pork belly diet like we are. The parade starts at noon in Grant Park.

Sunday
Ada St. is changing its reservation system to allow for more walk-ins as well as flexible drinking and dining options for those taking in a concert at The Hideout. Reservtions will only be accepted between 5:30 and 6:30 PM, after then, all tables will be allocated on a first-come, first serve basis (773-697-7069).
