Box Office: Slagel Family Farm Dinners

There’s something special, and maybe slightly disturbing, about eating an animal at the same place it was born, raised and killed. It takes the whole "eat local" movement to another level. Last summer, we had such an experience when we traveled to Fairbury, IL for a farm dinner with five local chefs. Several of these chefs are back for round two via a series of dinners taking place at the farm throughout the summer. Each dinner includes snacks, a farm tour, a butchery demo and a four-course dinner prepared by the guest chefs using Slagel Family Farm meats. Tickets to the dinners cost $125 and the full lineup is below.
