Big Gay Ice Cream Truck Makes San Francisco Cameo

Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff, the founders of New York's Big Gay Ice Cream truck and shops, are planning a few days of fun in San Francisco next week. The duo is currently renting and wrapping a truck in Los Angeles, where they'll serve for a few days before driving up to San Francisco.

The truck will make its Bay Area debut somewhere in the city on June 7; check the BGIC Twitter feed next week for the time and location. It will also be featured at Chipotle's Cultivate Festival in Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow on June 8. Quint and Petroff will then park their cabooses at gay bar Truck on June 9, where they'll have special "last meals" created in their honor by chef Jake Godby's Truck Stop Cafe pop-up.

"I can't wait to eat what Jake has prescribed for our final meals," says Quint. "We might also be guest scoopers that afternoon at [Godby's ice cream parlor] Humphry Slocombe if we're not too hung over."
