Betony Brings Elegant American Fare to Midtown

Eamon Rockey has a good track record of late, and it was a bit surprising when he quickly left Aska after opening it as a followup to his work at Atera. Well this front-of-house maestro is back, and it's easy to see why he quickly moved on to a new project. His latest is Betony, a modern American restaurant in Midtown West that he opened with fellow Eleven Madison Park alum Bryce Shuman. Shuman's menu features elegantly plated a la carte selections like gocchi with corn and sea cress and asparagus pappardelle, black pepper and summer truffles (pictured).

The mid-sized eatery features a 35-seat bar and lounge where guests can enjoy over 400 bottles of wine along with classically inspired cocktails (think a julep with orange bitters and house-made Orange Oleo Saccharum). The space has high ceilings, windows overlooking the street and is now open for dinner at 41 West 57th Street (212-465-2400).
