Bartender Secrets: How to Crush Your Own Ice in 60 Seconds


Say you want a classic mint julep, but you don't have a blender and all you've got in your freezer are big old chunks of ice. Fear not. During our visit to Jack Allen's Kitchen in Austin we asked bartender David Toby to show us a quick and easy way to fill that julep glass with ice. He called this a "bartender cheat," but we'll be using it the next time we're at a picnic and want to do things right.
