Austin Weekend Planner: Pachanga Fest, Free Cheese and Mother's Day

Rain or shine, Austin is busy eating on the weekends. Here are the coolest events happening this fin de semana.


Buzz Mill Jamboree
The 24-hour coffee shop and beer haven on East Riverside is throwing its first annual jamboree, with live music, a pig roast, beef jerky making, flapjack eating and games and prizes. Be sure to check out the Blue Ox BBQ truck out back too. (1505 Town Creek Dr., 4 PM – 11 PM) 

Friday and Saturday 

Pachanga Latino Music Festival  
Fiesta Gardens will be transformed on Friday and Saturday with Latino music, food, art and culture. The music will be great, and so will the comida. Look forward to Chingo Bling Tamale King tamales, Aguirre’s Roasted Corn and hot dogs from Frank as well as a VIP area with tastings from local restaurants like Tapas Bravas, El Naranjo and Tamale House East as well as a salsa bar curated by the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival. (2101 Jesse E. Antonelli's Inaugural Pop-Up Picnic
Want to eat free cheese, salami, Easy Tiger baguette and Marcona almonds and hang out with Austin's royal family of cheese, John, Kendall and baby Everett? Then stay tuned to Antonelli's Facebook and Twitter for the deets for this flash-mob-like event, which will be announced at 9 AM on Saturday, then bring your own blanket to hang out, eat and relax. Tip: If you want to guarantee your free meal, be sure to email your name and the number of guests to info@antonellischeese.com. (Location TBA, 10 AM - 1 PM, $7 suggested donation)
