Rocio's Mole de Los Dioses Opens Third Location, Now in Tarzana

New space, new art/Photo: Grub Street
If you're willing to drive to Sun Valley for Rocio's Mole de Los Dioses mole - and you really should, as it's one of our favorites - then a trip to Tarzana isn't out of the question. A third location of the mole institution (another is in Bell) officially opens tonight in the Valley, bringing the same mole menu - there are more than 10 variations - plus a few new specials.

Co-owner Alonso Arelleno tells Squid Ink that they're working closely with the community in various ways too, including showing artwork by local artist Manuel Figueroa, donating money and food to the Cal State University Northridge folklorico dance troupe and sourcing some ingredients from a community garden in Pacoima. He also notes that there's a chance more Rocio's Mole de los Dioses will open around the greater Los Angeles area. "In Sun Valley, we're a destination restaurant. People drive very far to go to the restaurant. They tell us to open a restaurant near them," he says. We have. Take a look at some of the new art and dishes via Grub Street. Rocio's is now open for lunch and dinner daily.
