Wine Spectator's Grand Tour To Uncork Over 200 Coveted Wines

Weekend drinking is for amateurs. You’ll find the true oenophiles sniffing, sipping and spitting premier crus next Wednesday night at the Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour, a three-city grand tasting that touches down at San Francisco for one night only. The evening, which is being billed as “The World’s Finest Wine Experience”, will feature a tasting of the magazine’s 200 top-scoring wines from around the world, including many rare and hard to find selections (see the drool-worth list here). Guest will have an opportunity to mix and mingle with the magazine editors and many of the illustrious winery owners and wine makers who will be in attendance. Tickets are $200 per person, which includes tastings, a light buffet and a souvenir Riedel tasting glass, and net proceeds will benefit the Wine Spectator California Scholarship Foundation, which supports students pursuing careers in the wine industry (April 24, 7-10 PM, Marriot Marquis 55 Fourth St, tickets available online).
