The Ultimate Guide to Mexican Dining Around DC

Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Mexican Food Week has arrived! It’s time to celebrate with a margarita or two and some tasty south-of-the-border chow. The DC Metro dining scene offers plenty of options, ranging from storefront cantinas to celebrity chef destinations. Check out our suggestions for where to find everything from a killer salsa and chips to a Sunday morning hangover remedy. Let us know your favorites on Twitter and Google+ using the hashtag #MexicanFoodWeek.

  1. Lauriol Plaza? California Tortilla? And THREE mentions for Bandolero? I suppose you'd be deaf enough after the first meal that the next two wouldn't matter. Seriously, get to La Mexicana Bakery & Tacqueria or Tacos El Costalila or pretty much anywhere in Hyattsville for better slop than this.

  2. It's also El Chucho. Not El Cucho.

  3. This article instantly loses credibility by claiming that Bandoleros makes a good margarita. If you want the nasty taste of poorly made syrup and cheap tequila barely mixed together for $10+ a glass, hit up Bandoleros. But don't hit them up if you want a good margarita.

Seriously, you can make a better margarita than Bandoleros at home using "premix" ice and decent tequila.

  4. Tortilla coast?!? Bandoleros again?!? Cactus Cantina as a good restaurant?? Lauriol Plaza mentioned in anything positive?

Olga Boikess, you ARE NOT WORTHY of your title. Seriosuly, please hand in your food critic credentials.

Seriously, this has got to be one of the WORST and least accurate Mexican food lists of all time.

What's next? Best nachos at Taco Bell? Best Burritos at Burrito Brothers?

I'm offended at how bad this article is.

Eater and now Zagat have both clearly demonstrated that gringas who have no clue should not be writing about tacos, taquerias, Mexican restaurants or anything Latin themed. The cluelessness is killing me!
